Climb Description

Collada Llomena from Beleño is a highly enjoyable climb in the heart of the Ponga Natural Park. It has never been used in the Vuelta a España, with the race preferring to climb on the main road over the Puerto de Pontón, but this is a more sceneic route.
The ascent itself is largely in forest, but you do occasionally catch glimpses of peaks from the Ponga mountains as well as from the neighbouring Picos de Europa National Park. The highlight of the Collada Llomena, however, comes from the ride to the base of the climb, as you ride through the steep sided gorges of the Ponga Natural Park. Despite its lack of fame, this is a really enjoyable ride.
Collada Llomena is nominally open year-round; however, short-term closures due to snow are frequent during the winter.
Other Sides
Collada Llomena can also be climbed from the east, with the ascent starting immediately from Puente Vidosa on the N-625 road. It is a more challenging climb from this side.Nearby Climbs
