Climb Description

Mirador de la Collada is a tough climb into the Picos de Europa National Park. It is characterised by steep gradients, particularly the brutal last kilometre.

The scenery is pleasant, but you don't really get the best views of the Picos here. For that, it's better to head slightly further east and climb the much better known Lagos de Covadonga.

Mirador de la Collada is usually open throughout the year. But short term closures are possible in winter due to snow.

Roads & Traffic

The road is very narrow, but the surface is in good condition, and there is virtually no traffic on the climb.

Alternative Routes

This is the only way up the climb.
