Climb Description

This climb to Puerto Lobo is convenient in that it begins from the centre of Granada, but it is not one of our favourite climbs in the region.

It is not particularly scenic (although there are some nice views of Granada in places), and it is also busier than the routes in the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains. It is not full of traffic, but there are enough cars that it is a bit bothersome.

As a way of leaving or entering Granada as part of a longer route, Puerto Lobo is OK, but we wouldn't recommend riding it as a stand alone climb.

Puerto Lobo is open year round.

Roads & Traffic

The road is in excellent condition throughout the climb.

This climb is not especially busy, but expect to be passed fairly regularly by fast moving traffic on the N-342, which doesn't have a hard shoulder for most of the route.

Puerto Lobo can also be climbed via Viznar.
