Collado de Quéntar is a very easy climb. The gradients are gentle and it is not very long, making it an ideal choice for a recovery ride after climbing Pico del Veleta.

Roads & Traffic

The road is in excellent condition throughout the climb. This is the main road to the villages of Dúdar and Quéntar, so you will occasionally meet some cars, but there is not a lot of traffic on the climb.

Climb Description

The Collado de Quéntar is a pleasant climb with gentle gradients. There are nice views into the Sierra Nevada National Park and the descent from the top is especially picturesque as you pass two reservoirs.

Alternative Route

Collado de Quéntar can also be climbed from the north-east. This is probably a more scenic route than from Pinos Genil, but it is also an even easier ascent.
