Climb Description
Piedra San Martín is a pleasant climb in the Pyrenees which finish on the border with France. It is better known by its french name - Col de Pierre St Martin - a climb which has featured in the Tour de France, notably in 2015 when Chris Froome beat his rivals by over one minute to take a grip on the general classification. The Spanish side is the easier climb and should pose no problems for experienced cyclists. The scenery is typical of this part of the Basque Pyrenees, and is more rolling than the jagged peaks of the Central Pyrenees.
Piedra San Martín is usually open from May to October; although it is sometimes open for more of the year, depending on snow in the area.

Piedra San Martín can also be climbed from the French side, beginning in Arette.Nearby Climbs
