Climb Description

El Portitxol is one of the most enjoyable cycling climbs in the Valencia province. And the ascent from Moixent is the most scenic and spectacular side of the climb.

It's a gentle climb with no real difficulties at all, even though it ascends over 400m in total. The scenery is beautiful from the very start as you ride through a dramatic gorge. It then continues winding through pine forests and orchards with really nice views throughout. We highly recommend it!

El Portitxol is open throughout the whole year.

Roads & Traffic

The road is in excellent condition throughout, and there is very little traffic on the climb.

Alternative Routes

There are three other ways to reach El Portitxol, all of them enjoyable climbs. The most popular side is from the town of Ontinyent; it can also be climbed from Aielo, and the hardest side is from Vallada.
