Climb Description
Rasos de Peguera is a high mountain climb in the Catalan Pyrenees. It is one of several high altitude cycling climbs in the area and is one of the most enjoyable to ride. The gradient is quite inconsistent, with several stretches above 10% - notably in the first two kilometres. The scenery here is in forest for much of the early part of the climb, but it does open up as you ascend, with some fine views across the green valley.Rasos de Peguera has been used three times in the Vuelta a España - always as a stage finish. One of the most entertaining was in the year 1999, when Swiss rider Alex Zulle crossed the line first.
Rasos de Peguera is open from April to November and can be open for longer depending on the local weather. However, don't count on being able to ride to the top during winter.
