Climb Description

The climb to Pico del Inglés begins in the historic city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, next to the cathedral. From here you head north on the TF-13, before turning onto the TF-113 and continuing on the TF-12 into the Anaga Natural Park. The route finishes with a short section on the TF-114 - following the signs until you reach the Pico del Inglés Mirador (viewpoint). The last few hundred metres to the mirador are actually downhill.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable climb that heads into the heart of the Anaga Nautral Park. The vibrant green scenery is very different here to other parts of the island, and it has the feel of a tropical rainforest at times.

Much of the climb is in trees, but it does open up occasionally, with some picturesque views, not least from the mirador itself, at the top of the climb. It is highly recommend to also ride the other side of the climb, which is an even more spectacular road leading down to the coast. If you have the choice, we recommend climbing from that side, and descending down towards La Laguna.

Roads & Traffic

The road surface is in very good condition throughout the climb.

The TF-13 is quite busy as you leave La Laguna, but there is a wide hard shoulder to keep you out of the traffic. After turning off here the traffic reduces considerably, particularly once you enter the Anaga Natural Park.

Alternative Routes

It is also possible to climb to Pico del Inglés from San Andres; this is a longer and even more beautiful ascent.
