Passo Costalunga from Bolzano is a long cycling climb which takes you from the city of Bolzano into the Dolomites. Make sure you avoid the busy SS-241 road and follow this quiet and picturesque route, which is a lot of fun to ride, but without too much spectacular scenery.
Passo Costalunga is a long climb and with some moderately challenging sections. However, for experienced cycle tourists it has the kind of gradients which allow you to get into a nice rhythm and really enjoy the climb.
Passo Costalunga is best climbed from May to October.
