Mallorca Beaches Extensions

Outside of the historic capital Palma, the best reason to stay in Mallorca is for the fantastic beaches and warm climate year round. There are many beach resorts on the island with differing reputations. Outside July and August the beaches and towns become much less crowded and more enjoyable. The following are some of the best and most popular beach resorts on the island:

Alcudia Beach Situated around 60km from Palma, Alcudia is a historic town with great beaches. Close to the Cap de Formentor, Alcudia has a wide range of hotels.

Just to the south of Palma, Arenal is another resort popular at the height of summer, but much more pleasant the rest of the year. Great beaches and very close to the island's airport.

Port de Pollenca

A few kilometres north of Alcudia, Port de Pollenca is a less developed tourist town than Alcudia. Nevertheless, it still has great beaches and magnificant views. Closer to the mountains on the north of the island, the town is well situated if you fancy doing a bit of walking or cycling before or after your tour.

Port de Soller

This upmarket town on the north coast, is in a picturesque setting, surrounded by the Tramuntana Mountains. It has a beautiful beach and a lively promenade with many excellent restaurants and boutique shops.
