Climb Description

Puerto de Onil is a pleasant climb situated between the Sierra de la Fontanella and the Sierra de Mariola Natural Parks. The climb from Banyares de Mariola has gentle gradients, with just one kilometre near the start which is slightly testing. The scenery is mostly arable farmland with some medium mountains visable on either side; however, the views are pleasant rather than spectacular.

Puerto de Onil is usually open throughout the year.

Roads & Traffic

The road surface is in excellent condition.

The first part of the climb out of Banyeres de Mariola has a few cars, but it is a big wide road and so they don't cause much of an issue.

The second half of the climb is very quiet.

Alternative Routes

Puerto de Onil can also be climbed starting from the town of Onil.
