Climb Description
Port de Confrides is one of the most enjoyable climbs in the Alicante province. The gradients are mostly gentle, with just a couple of steeper hairpins towards the top of the climb. The scenery here is very picturesque, from the almond and olive fields around the villages of Benilloba and Benasua, to the more winding mountainous scenery as you get closer to the pass.Situated in the magnificant Sierra de Aitana range, there are many possibilites to combine Confrides with other climbs, but it is also pleasant and long enough to do by itself. This is one of the finest climbs in the region (and also makes for a great descent), so we would strongly advice you to check it out if you are cycling in the area.
Port de Confrides is usually open throughout the year.
Roads & Traffic
Port de Confrides has an excellent road surface throughout. There is little traffic on the climb, particularly after passing the village of Benasau.
