Climb Description
Aitana is a short and fairly steep climb to the top of one of the highest mountains in the Valencia Community. The profile above is essentially an extension to the popular Port de Tudons climb. The scenery on Aitana is spectacular with views along the Costa Blanca on a clear day.Unfortunately Aitana is also a military base and so the road is nearly always closed to the public. Prior authorization to climb to Aitana is not unheard of, but neither is it very common. The best chance of doing the climb is to ascend it when it features as a stage finish in the Vuelta a España or other regional cycling races, in which it appears fairly regularly.

The road is in very good condition throughout and there is almost no traffic on the climb.
