Teno Alto is only short, but it is quite a challenging ascent. The gradient is very irregular and there are several sections in excess of 15%. However, there are also plenty of more gentle sections where you can recover, so it shouldn't prove too difficult for experienced cyclists.

Roads & Traffic

The road surface is in reasonable condition. It has been recently asphalted, but it is quite a rough corrugated surface. This is more annoying on the descent than when climbing though. There is very little traffic throughout the climb.
