This is an easy climb with gentle gradients and that is not particularly long. It is best to do with a combination of some of the other climbs in the area.
Roads & TrafficThe road surface is in very good condition throughout the climb. The TF-13 is quite busy as you leave La Laguna, but there is a wide hard shoulder to keep you out of the traffic. After turning off here the traffic reduces considerably, particularly once you enter the Añaga Natural Park.
Climb DescriptionThe climb to Pico del Inglés begins in the city of San Cristobal de La Laguna, next to the cathedral. From here you head north on the TF-13, before turning onto the TF-113 and continuing on the TF-12 into the Añaga Natural Park.
The climb finishes with a short section on the TF-114 - following the signs to the Pico del Inglés Mirador. The last few hundred metres to the mirador are downhill.
Pico del Inglés is a really pleasant climb in the Añaga Natural Park. It begins from historic La Laguna, the most interesting city in Tenerife, and quickly ascends into the mountains.
The scenery here is very different from the more popular western part of the island; it is a lot more green and forested. However, there are places where it really opens up giving fantastic views of the Añaga Valley and of the eastern side of El Teide.
Alternative RoutesIt is also possible to climb to Pico del Inglés from San Andres; this is a longer and even more beautiful ascent.
