This is one of the easiest climbs in Mallorca. The gradients are gentle throughout and should be a comfortable climb for cyclists of nearly all levels.
Roads & TrafficThe road surface is in very good condition and is fine for both ascending and descending on a road bike.
Traffic is infrequent on this climb. Even in summer you are unlikely to encounter more than a handful of cars.
Climb DescriptionThe climb to es Grau from the east begins at the junction of the Ma-1100 and the Ma-1101, 1.5km to the north-west of Esporles. The climb continues on the Ma-1101 all the way to the top of es Grau.
This is a picturesque climb, passing by some small vineyards and almond fields, before climbing gently to the top of Es Grau.
The descent from the top into Puigpunyent is very technical with a lot of tight hairpins - perfect for practicing your bike handling.
Alternative RouteEs Grau can be climbed from the other side, starting in Puigpunyent. This is more challenging due to the steeper gradients.
