Climb Description
Peña Cabarga is a thoroughly enjoyable climb. Despite its fairly modest altitude, it offers fantastic views looking out over Santander and the Cantabrian Sea. It is a popular cycling climb due to its proximity to Santander - the regional capital - and it is certainly one of the best cycling routes in the area.Peña Cabarga has hosted numerous stage finishes in the Vuelta a España, always as the final climb of the stage. Notable winners here include Chris Froome and Joaquim Rodríguez - suggesting that despite its short length, it is certainly an ascent for proper climbers.
Peña Cabarga is open throughout the year.

The road is in very good condition and there is generally little traffic on the climb.
