Climb Description
Puerto de Tarna is a pleasant climb in the Redes Natural Park. The scenery is largely green and mountainous, and it becomes increasingly open the higher you climb. The region itself is very remote, with few villages so it is important to take your own supplies if you plan to do a ride in this area.We certainly recommend climbing the Tarna if you are in the area, but it is difficult to get to the start of the climb, and it is probably not worth making a specific journey to do it, given the high number of other good climbs nearby.
Puerto de Tarna is usually open throughout most of the year.
Roads & Traffic
The road is in mixed condition. At times it is a perfect surface, while at other times it is cracked in places making for a slightly more bumpy ride.
There is little traffic on the climb.
