Climb Description

Puerto de Cotefablo is a really enjoyable cycling climb. It is pleasant and calm rather than really spectacular, but there are also some fine views looking into the fabulous Ordesa National Park. The low traffic and very good road surface also helps you to really appreciate the scenery.

Cotefablo is open throughout the year, although short term closures are possible in the winter following snowfall.

Roads & Traffic

The road is in very good condition.

There is little traffic throughout the climb. Care, however, must be taken in the two tunnels - particularly the unlit one shortly after the village of Gavín. The longer tunnel at the top of the climb is lit and is fine for cycling, but it is best to also put lights on your bike.

Alternative Routes

Cotefablo can also be climbed from the east, starting in Broto
